Overview
Are you an aspiring Assistant Quantity Surveyor with ambition to work on one of the UK's largest construction projects? Elvet Recruitment are currently seeking someone to join a leading, international tier one contractor on a first of its kind, landmark project for the region.
Responsibilities
* As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be assisting in the overseeing packages of work, managing all costs and income associated within your area of responsibility.
* Use the company's ERP and Digital Systems.
* Order information and systematically checks data.
* Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
* Prepare cost reconciliation statements.
* Measure & interpret works information, specifications & drawings and prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
* Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates.
* Measure works and agreements with subcontractors.
* Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
* Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes.
* Collate Cost and Value Information.
* Understand the Customer Contract and undertake customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
* Understand delay and disruption programmes.
Experience / Qualifications
* A construction related degree or HNC/HND.
* The ability to use financial control procedures.
* The ability to use existing information to value variations.
* Understands and uses Contract Programmes incorporating the whole of the works.
* The ability to analyse the implication of various options.
* Knowledge of Construction programmes.
* A sound working knowledge of the various forms of conditions of contract used for civil engineering projects.
* Demonstrates knowledge & experience of contract structures & documentation.
Remuneration & Benefits
* A salary of up to £40,000 (dependant upon experience) plus package.
* Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working, where roles allow.
* 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata).
