This SEMH Independent School is offering a nurturing and holistic education model for vulnerable children and young people. With a maximum of 12 pupils per class and a minimum of two adults in each, the school focuses on creating an inclusive, supportive, and therapeutic environment that fosters growth and achievement.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, tailoring teaching methods to meet individual needs.
2. Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students with SEMH needs.
3. Use a therapeutic approach to behaviour management, fostering positive relationships and emotional growth.
4. Collaborate with support staff and other professionals to develop personalized learning plans.
5. Assess student progress, provide regular feedback, and adapt strategies to promote success.
6. Contribute to the school’s holistic approach by participating in school events, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are warmly welcomed to apply.
8. A passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
9. Experience or interest in working with pupils with additional needs is highly desirable.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
11. A creative, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
