About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of our kitchen. You will plan, prepare and cook menus that meet the dietary needs of clients and students, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, hygiene and professionalism.
This is a key leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, excellent food knowledge and the ability to supervise and support kitchen staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities
4. Kitchen leadership — Oversee the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring all standards are consistently met.
5. Policy and compliance — Ensure all company policies, procedures and legal requirements are followed.
6. Staff rotas — Organise kitchen staff rotas to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
7. Cleaning standards — Ensure cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard.
8. Training and appraisals — Complete staff appraisals and ongoing training in line with legislation and company procedures.
9. Staff discipline — Maintain staff discipline and take appropriate action when required.
10. Documentation — Maintain accurate records, including HACCP documentation.
11. Professional standards — Uphold high standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, courtesy and consideration.
12. Equipment care — Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
13. Maintenance reporting — Report maintenance issues promptly and keep accurate records.
14. General cleaning — Carry out cleaning duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
15. Experience in a senior kitchen role, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment
16. Strong understanding of dietary requirements and menu planning
17. Knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP and Health & Safety standards
18. Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a team
19. Excellent organisational and communication skills
20. A proactive, professional and safety‑focused approach
