The position of Bid Manager is required to ensure the effective management and coordination of the bidding process for projects, enabling the company to secure new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop bid proposals including costings and proposal documentation.
* Participate in business plans development
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
* Promotion of the company and services offered
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, including advanced Word, Excel & Outlook
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
* Have excellent customer service skills and telephone manner
* Ability to work on their own initiative
* Drive continuous improvement
* Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met
* Share knowledge and impart skills to other team members
* Assist in any other duties which may encompass the role.
* Working across all Market Sectors to grow sales and develop new business
* Providing Technical Sales support to new and customers
* Dealing with technical sales enquiries
* Preparing pricing quotations to new and existing customers
* Managing a positive working relationship with all management & staff
* Generate sales reports on a monthly basis
* Keep up to date with developments in the industry and liaise with senior management on these developments
Qualifications:
* A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
* Proven experience with AutoCAD and PVsyst software
* Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end bid preparation, including cost estimation, proposal development, and timely submission in line with client specifications
* Strong track record in handling technical sales enquiries, developing pricing strategies, and preparing bespoke quotations across multiple market sectors
* In-depth understanding of the engineering, construction, and renewable energy industries, including emerging trends and market positioning
* Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, generate monthly sales reports, and ensure bid compliance
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), including the ability to produce professional proposal documents and manage pricing spreadsheets
* Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to client service and stakeholder engagement
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams
* Highly organised, meticulous, and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines independently or as part of a collaborative team
