We are seeking a friendly and professional Boutique Assistant to join the team.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and great customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant environment, assisting customers with their shopping experience, managing merchandise, and supporting daily store operations.
The position is suitable for individuals eager to develop their retail skills within a welcoming team.
Retail experience is a bonus, but we're primarily looking for someone with a strong interest in indie makers and artists. Someone who will be proactive in the shop and has interest in this area. If you are creative or a maker or artist yourself this will definitely be welcomed. I'd love to employ someone who really has a connection to the items we're selling.

The shop is a gift focussed shop with art prints and independent artists focus and some clothing and jewellery.
If you have social media experience and are good with this side of thing this will also be a big plus. It's a new business and social media promotion will be super important.
Responsibilities
* Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
* Assist with merchandising displays, ensuring the store remains attractive and well-organised
* Offer product recommendations and upsell items to maximise sales opportunities
* Maintain accurate stock levels, organise inventory, and restock shelves as needed.
* Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system, including basic maths calculations
* Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed within scheduled shifts
* Support store organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the premises.
* The position would be working solo, so you must have confidence in working alone. With training and shadowing first of course
Qualifications
* Formal qualifications not necessary, I'm looking for personality and interest in the role and what we sell.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
* Organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock management
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
* Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively during shifts
* Experience or interest in retail, fashion, or customer service is preferred but not essential
* Organisational skills that support efficient store operations
Hours
* Weekend availablity.
* The position is a Saturday and Sunday role. This can either be split into 2 jobs for 2 people or you can take both.
* With some possibility for ad-hoc weekdays (Will be discussed and confirmed in advance. You will be only contracted for the regular weekend shift, but other days may be available and offered from time to time.
* The role would suit someone who is perhaps studying, or is an artist themselves who needs a small part time job.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
