Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for an SO1 Global Interpreters within the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Northwood, on Additional Duties Commitment (ADC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS) for up to 180 days per annum, with an anticipated proposed start date of 1 April 2026 or earlier if possible. This is a key role at the Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood, offering the chance to lead and deliver the new Global Interpreters contract (GIC) on behalf of the HQ. Responsibilities: Act as PJHQ lead for delivering the new Global Interpreters Contract (GIC) starting in early 2028, on behalf of the PJHQ J1/4 Requirement Owner and incorporate lessons learned from previous contract procurements throughout all stages. Assume responsibility for GIC 28 re-let planning from the current GIC 24 Contract Management Team. Review and update the linguist requirement, contract Statement of Requirement (SOR), and associated documentation. Update and steer the Outline and Full Business Cases (OBC/FBC) through cost assurance and CSOC/Cabinet Office approvals. Revise the Evaluation Strategy and lead the assessment of bidders’ tenders. Oversee governance of the re-let process, including regular progress reporting to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO). Handover the new contract to the GIC 28 Contract Management Team upon completion. Be prepared to lead/support the PJHQ customer element of a defence of a legal challenge if required.
