The Role
To own the end-to-end process across defined areas of our central overheads accounting, forecasting, and reporting. The role will involve some business partnering, reporting and FP&A opportunities, with the primary focus making sure that the Balance Sheet is maintained correctly to provide a sound basis for the accuracy, insight and effectiveness of reporting output and external audit.
You Will
1. Be responsible for the Balance Sheet maintenance of specific areas of the central cost base
2. Be responsible for preparing cost centre output and insight analysis vs plan and prior year
3. Be responsible for updating and challenging Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and understanding
4. Be responsible for supporting and being responsible for defined parts of the FP&A function
5. Get involved with the annual external audit, liaising with the external audit team when required
6. Be ready to liaise with operator stakeholders across the business as appropriate
7. Be able to explain financial output to non-financial operators across the business in an effective way
8. Be able to build relationships with stakeholders from around the business outside of Finance as appropriate
9. Be responsible for owning and supporting with specific parts of the FP&A function
10. Support with investment appraisals, capital approvals, and post sign-off review of capital expenditure
11. Support the Finance Manager on projects outside of normal duties as required
12. Look for ways to utilize finance systems to their full potential
13. Ensure that all financials and reporting comply with relevant accounting standards and legislative frameworks
14. Have the mindset of always challenging BAU process to strive for extra efficiencies wherever possible
You Are
15. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
16. Practically minded and have experience of accounting within industry
17. Proactive, driven, and resilient so can thrive in a fast-paced working environment
18. Able to work under your own initiative
19. Competent and comfortable with using finance systems
20. Able to hit the ground running, with a positive and driven attitude to make a real difference
21. A highly motivated, enthusiastic self-starter, someone who can roll their sleeves up and pitch in
22. Equipped with advanced Microsoft Excel skills as well as other key Microsoft Office applications
23. An exceptionally IT literate individual
24. Able to build strong working relationships with your immediate team and also with cross-functional team members
25. You are prepared to take on responsibility for your own professional and career development
