We're looking for someone to help our Fundraising Lead manage a donor database, communicate with donors, and possibly assist in organizing donor events. This role involves spreadsheet management, writing, and event coordination.

What are we looking for?
Skills Communication Organizational Fundraising Basic knowledge of fundraising principles or willingness to learn. Experience Volunteering or Working with Vulnerable Groups Experience in supporting refugees, asylum seekers, or similar communities. Fundraising Previous involvement in fundraising activities or events. Qualities Teamwork Reliability Commitment to dedicating 1-2 hours per week despite occasional peaks.
What will you be doing?
Location Generally remote working (although occasional access to Sevenoaks would be an advantage) Reporting to Fundraising Lead Time Commitment Average 1-2 hours per week, with peaks at particular times Remuneration Voluntary Position (Expenses Reimbursed) Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees is a local charity formed in March 2017. We are a small and growing charity, whose volunteers and supporters have come together to welcome and help support the refugees who have fled the fighting and persecution in Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine, and are now resettling in our community. Our mission is to ensure that refugees are truly welcomed into Sevenoaks District. We support their journey to social integration and economic independence by working directly with them and others in providing language training, household goods, social activities and supporting access to public services, employment, education and housing. We work in close partnership with Sevenoaks Town Council, Sevenoaks District Council, Kent County Council and The Refugee Council, who are commissioned by KCC to provide services to refugees from the Syrian and Afghan cohort. Our 100+ volunteers operate across the Sevenoaks District area, not just Sevenoaks Town, and are currently helping to support 36 refugee families. Key responsibilities Ensure our donor information is correctly populated, maintained and synchronised with other records including data on supporters Manage communications with donors, including thank-yous, updates and campaigns Organize events for donors where appropriate. Prepare reports on fundraising performance Requirements Excellent written communication skills Strong administrative skills Desirable Some experience with spreadsheets but training will be given if needed
