About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in T-Level Engineering (Electrical) to join our Engineering department at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Purpose & Planning – Deliver engaging, up-to-date learning experiences that lead to learner success, supported by thorough lesson planning and resource preparation.
* Classroom & Behaviour Management – Create a safe, structured learning environment by managing behaviour, setting clear expectations, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
* Teaching & Learning Delivery – Deliver dynamic, inclusive lessons with clear objectives, differentiated activities, and constructive feedback, while adapting based on learner input and reflection.
* Assessment & Administration – Conduct initial assessments, set and mark assignments, maintain accurate records, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support learner progress.
* Professionalism & Development – Engage in continuous professional development, contribute to course improvement, uphold safeguarding and equality standards, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
About You / Qualifications
* Qualifications & Industry Standards: Hold or be working towards a teaching qualification (e.g. QTLS), Level 2 in Maths and English, and Assessor Award, with up-to-date vocational skills. A background in Electrical Engineering Theory is essential; background in Mechanical Engineering desirable.
* Teaching & Delivery Skills: Ability to teach across vocational areas and learner levels using varied approaches, with strong presentation and communication skills.
* Professional Knowledge: In-depth, current knowledge of relevant technologies, quality assurance systems, and health and safety practices in the vocational field.
* Attributes & Mindset: Motivated by learner success, reflective, flexible, and committed to continuous professional development and maintaining industry relevance.
* Teamwork & Organisation: Strong organisational and time management skills, a collaborative team player, and confident in data analysis and problem-solving within a target-driven environment.
