About the role
As the EURO 2028 Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting UK Sport’s responsibilities for one of the most significant sporting events of the decade. UEFA EURO 2028 will be delivered across the UK & Ireland, and this role sits at the heart of the partnership that supports its successful planning and delivery.
You’ll help manage UK Sport’s day-to-day relationship with the delivery body, UK & Ireland 2028 Ltd (UK&I), providing assurance, technical expertise and constructive challenge across key areas of event planning and delivery. Drawing on your experience of major or mega events, you’ll lead engagement and assurance across defined operational workstreams, such as security, transport, venues or football operations, ensuring robust planning, risk management and delivery against agreed funding and governance frameworks.
Alongside this, you’ll lead defined projects within the UK Sport EURO 2028 team, coordinate work that spans multiple workstreams, contribute to reporting and decision making, and help strengthen collaboration across a complex, multi-partner landscape.
This role offers a rare opportunity to help influence the delivery of a globally significant tournament, while working in a collaborative, expert and mission driven team.
Who will I be working with
You’ll work closely with the EURO 2028 Senior Advisor, colleagues across the UK Sport EURO 2028 team, DCMS, football partners, host cities, venues and a wide range of delivery partners across the UK & Ireland.
About you
You’re an experienced major events professional with a strong background in strategic planning, assurance or delivery within complex, high‑profile event environments. You bring hands‑on knowledge of working with delivery bodies or organising committees and have technical expertise in one or more operational areas such as security, transport, venues or football operations. You’re confident building trusted relationships across multiple stakeholders, providing constructive challenge while enabling successful delivery. Organised, analytical and calm under pressure, you’re comfortable working across multiple workstreams, assessing plans and budgets, and translating complex information into clear insights. Above all, you’re collaborative, values‑driven and motivated by the opportunity to help deliver a world‑class tournament that benefits communities across the UK & Ireland.
