Do you have a specialism or experience within property, land or construction? Does your skillset include a sound grasp of the economic, environmental and social landscapes of the South of Scotland or similar rural areas? The Economic Infrastructure team at SOSE delivers programmes of work across a range of areas including Tourism, Outdoor Sport, Construction, Property, Infrastructure and Energy. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day As an Economic Development Infrastructure Specialist you’ll take a lead role in developing and delivering a range of complex and innovative projects and programmes aimed at driving forward and maximising the economic, environmental and social development of the South of Scotland. You will have a particular focus on our land and property workstream, designed to identify and deliver a portfolio of employment land suitable for the evolving economic demand in the region. You will act as the key point of contact with partners involved in joint initiatives. You’ll need to: Understand and take a proactive approach to overcoming constraints on strategic and allocated employment sites Contribute to an extensive and evolving property and estates strategy that will meet current and future economic demand in the South of Scotland Develop powerful relationships with regional decision makers, key landowners and supporting professional services Work closely with potential inward investors to provide necessary supports to help secure their investment into the region Work with strategic partners and clients to bring forward complex funding projects The Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes You’ll Need to Have Practical knowledge and experience of leading complex land and estates development projects Extensive knowledge of the regional property landscape as well as knowledge of local and national economy A proven track record of engaging with partners at a senior level and a deep understanding of the challenges facing rural areas Strong commercial, financial and project delivery skills and experience Additionally, you should have qualifications in, or demonstrable equivalent experience of, one or more of the following: Construction contract administration Land acquisition / disposal Property agency / development / management What We’ll Offer You We offer a competitive and varied reward package, designed to cover your wellbeing, your lifestyle, your working life and your future, including 43 days holiday annually and a generous pension contribution. You’ll have a remit across the South of Scotland, covering the Dumfries & Galloway and Scottish Borders areas.
