Salary: £25,837.50 FTE (DOE)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:00 am–4:00 pm (Monday‑Friday)
Contract: Permanent – Term Time only
About the Role
Join our dedicated team of clinicians supporting children and young people at Trimdon Hill School. This cross‑disciplinary role primarily supports Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. You will work closely with the therapy team and education team to provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions under the supervision of qualified clinicians and the Lead Clinician. You will help create communication and sensory profiles, contribute to placement plans, deliver a range of interventions, observe, co‑facilitate staff training, attend multi‑agency meetings, and support service development. The role offers regular opportunities for professional development through internal forums and funding for external training.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions for pupils under supervision.
* Support creation of communication and sensory profiles and contribute to placement plans.
* Deliver targeted interventions and support pupil engagement in meaningful activities.
* Observe pupils, co‑facilitate staff training, and attend multi‑agency meetings.
* Participate in ongoing service development and professional development programmes.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including English at Grade C or above.
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required.
* Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role (advantageous).
* Experience working within an educational setting (advantageous).
* Strong teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of working with children and young people with SEN.
* Ability to conduct 1:1 and group sessions under supervision.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical and clinical information to clients, carers, families, and professionals.
* Excellent organisational skills and experience with administrative tasks (advantageous).
* Independently motivated with a dynamic problem‑solving approach and creative intervention development.
