Kisharon Langdon are looking for a Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join the team. Behavioural Teaching Assistant – The Role: Working under the guidance of the therapeutic team and senior staff, the role of the behaviour Teaching Assistant is to play an important role in supporting and leading the academic and personal development of children both in and out of the classroom. This role can involve working 1:1 with individuals who are struggling to manage their behaviour, as well as working alongside staff members to develop their practice, training others and implementing agreed programmes of work. Teaching Assistants at this level will use their detailed and specialist knowledge to assist the teacher and support other members of staff. Behavioural Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: - Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and meeting individual needs - Support pupils’ personal care, wellbeing, safety, and learning, including 1:1 mentoring when required - Encourage positive behaviour, independence, cooperation, and engagement in learning - Work closely with teachers to support lesson delivery, planning, assessment, and classroom management - Monitor, record, and provide feedback on pupils’ progress, behaviour, and attendance - Support pupils’ access to the curriculum, including reading, ICT, and use of learning resources - Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and contribute to health and safety procedures - Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals as appropriate - Contribute to the wider life of the school, including supervision, trips, meetings, and training Behavioural Teaching Assistant – You: - Relevant experience in a school or similar setting - Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties - Experience of effectively and positively managing a class and leading learning with groups of pupils, using appropriate strategies to enable them to settle to learn - Experience of using restorative practices Behavioural Teaching Assistant – You: - Staff are entitled to additional leave on major Jewish festivals - Access to health & wellbeing support - Strong training & development programme How to apply Please apply online today with your CV via the "Apply now" link below.
