Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to inspect and measure precision-engineered parts using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to ensure they meet required quality standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Setting up components on the CMM machine for inspection
* Running pre-written CMM measurement programs
* Measuring parts to ensure they meet engineering drawings and specifications
* Identifying any parts that are out of tolerance
* Recording and reporting measurement results accurately
* Completing inspection reports and quality documentation
* Using manual measuring tools where required (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges)
* Working closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues
* Maintaining a clean and organised work area
* Following all Health & Safety procedures

* Receiving finished components from production
* Inspecting parts using the CMM machine
* Checking results against drawings or specifications
* Highlighting any quality concerns
* Supporting investigations if issues are found
* Preparing parts for final approval or release

Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Good attention to detail
* Basic computer skills
* Strong accuracy and focus
Desirable:
* Previous experience operating a CMM machine
* Knowledge of inspection software (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar)
* Experience in aerospace, casting, or precision manufacturing
* Understanding of tolerances and measurement principles
