The Exam Room Assistant plays a key role in supporting patient flow, client communication, and overall efficiency in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment. This individual must be energetic, organized, and eager to work as part of a collaborative medical team.
Veterinary or medical experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
* Room patients efficiently and obtain accurate weights and vital signs
* Obtain thorough patient histories and gather pertinent information related to patient care
* Clearly communicate and round patient information with the doctor and technician team
* Assist in making medical and preventative care recommendations as directed by the medical team
* Prepare and fill prescriptions as needed
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
* Review discharge instructions with clients to ensure clear understanding of at-home care and follow-up needs
* Take payments and assist with checking clients out in a professional and compassionate manner
* Maintain a positive, supportive, and caring experience for both clients and patients
* Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary environment
