Registered Mental Health Nurse, Band 6, NHS Foundation Trust – The Meadows Town, Stockport.
Contract: Permanent. Hours: 37.5 per week (full time and part‑time available).
Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro rata).

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver person‑centred mental health nursing care in Adult and older adult acute wards, psychiatric intensive care wards, rehabilitation and high‑support wards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high‑quality care aligned with the Trust’s values.
* Support patients during day and night shifts, including unsocial hours, weekends and bank holidays.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Evidence of continual professional development.
* IT literacy.
* Training in management of violence and aggression.
* Training in psychosocial interventions.
* ECDL.
Experience
* Experience at Band 5 and evidence of appropriate clinical management experience.
* Experience in acute or forensic mental health settings.
* Experience across a range of mental health settings.
Knowledge
* Good understanding of mental illness.
* Knowledge of treatments and interventions suitable for individuals with acute mental health needs.
* Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and CPA process.
* Knowledge of current policy and guidance for PICU/acute mental health services development.
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.
Skills and Abilities
* Good verbal and written communication skills, especially for complex and sensitive information.
* Ability to complete appropriate documentation.
* Positive social skills within the team and when interacting with service users, staff, carers, visitors and the public.
* Physical ability to undertake and participate in PMVA in a clinical setting.
Work‑Related Circumstances
* Willingness to work within a 24‑hour shift system, including day and night shifts, unsocial hours, weekends and bank holidays.

* Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
