About the role
The DAP Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in enabling the successful adoption of Dynamics 365 (D365) across Softcat's sales and support teams. As part of the Catalyst transformation programme—Softcat's largest systems change to date—you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining in-app learning experiences that support just-in-time, role-based enablement.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for digital learning, user experience, and data-driven content design. You will work closely with business change, IT, vendor partners, and learning and development teams to ensure the DAP delivers measurable improvements in engagement, productivity, and user satisfaction.
As Digital Instructional Designer, you'll be responsible for:
* Create and maintain in-app guidance including walkthroughs, nudges, hotspots, videos, FAQs, and quick reference guides.
* Use AI-enabled tools to rapidly develop micro-learning content tailored to user personas and business processes
* Ensure content is consistent with Softcat's tone, branding, and cultural values
* Configure and manage the DAP across Development, Testing, and Production environments
* Partner with Sales, Process Owners, Business Change, L&D, and Comms, to identify high-impact use cases as well as to align with ways of working, frameworks, toolkits and tone of voice
We'd love you to have
* Proven Experience in Instructional Design & Digital Adoption - Demonstrated success in instructional design, digital adoption, or UX design—ideally within a DAP or CRM environment
* Expertise with DAP Tools - Familiarity with platforms such as WalkMe, Whatfix, Pendo, Oracle Guided Learning, or similar
* Strong Content Creation Skills - Ability to design and maintain in-app guidance (e.g. walkthroughs, nudges, videos, FAQs) using AI-enabled tools tailored to user personas and business processes
* Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with Sales, Business Change, L&D, and Comms teams
* Platform Administration & Governance -Experience configuring and managing DAP environments (Dev/Test/Prod), including governance for content approval, version control, and localisation
