Clinical Support Worker - Ward 14 and Early Pregnancy Unit

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our dedicated team on Ward 14 and the Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient and compassionate care across a dynamic and specialised environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personal care and support to patients across the ward and EPU.
* Prepare and maintain equipment and ensure the clinical area is well‑stocked.
* Handle and record patient belongings with care and accuracy.
* Participate in ward‑based audits and research activities when required.
* Uphold a personal duty of care in the use of equipment and supplies.
Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements
* Demonstrate good communication skills and understanding of basic requirements for individual patient care.
* Recognise people's right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect.
* Awareness of Safeguarding issues.
Qualifications
* NVQ 3 in care or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
* Educated to a good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths & English level C or above.
* Care Certificate or commitment to achieving within 2 weeks of commencement.
Further Training
* Able to attend a 5-day Clinical Induction.
* Committed to attending further training and development as identified.
Experience
* Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills.
* Experience of working as part of a team.
* Previous care work experience.
* Previous experience in a hospital setting.
Contractual Requirements
* Flexible approach.
* Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster including nights and weekends.
