Are you a qualified Band 4 Assistant Practitioner looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and making a real difference in the lives of service users and their carers?
We are currently recruiting two highly motivated and compassionate Assistant Practitioners to join our Child and adolescent Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment Team (Lighthouse Centre). The role is offered on a full time-time basis (37.5 hours per week). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service which is regionally leading the way in Eating Disorders Day Treatment.
Main duties of the job
You will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team which is responsible for delivering high quality care to young people and their families. This will predominantly be clinic based, covering the day intensive programme but interventions in the community or on acute wards may occasionally be required.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate Trust values in delivering care to others. We are looking for a range of qualities including dedication, focus and compassion, empathy and sensitivity in their approach to people who may be distressed or come across in a challenging manner.
You will be expected to work alongside the MDT in providing NICE concordant treatment to young people with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, often with co-morbidities, neurodiverse presentations and complex needs. In collaboration with the team and parents/carers you will help to deliver a structured treatment plan that offers a range of therapeutic interventions appropriate to clinical need, including psychological interventions under supervision.
You will need to be motivational, enthusiastic and flexible within this role, working well with young people, their parent/carers and the rest of the team. Previous relevant experience of working in a community or inpatient setting, and/or with patients with eating disorders, and an interest in working with families is desired but support will be given to the right candidate.
