A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised Paralegal to joinourbusy employment team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our work with education sector clients, particularly in managing Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal claims.
The role offers a varied and rewarding workload in a fast-paced environment, key responsibilities include assisting Solicitors with the management of a busy caseload of SEND tribunal claims, preparing and filing formal responses to SEND claims and liasingprofessionally and empathetically with clients, including schools, local authorities and parents. The successful candidate will also assist with general legal research and drafting advice notes for education clients as well as supporting the wider Employment and Education Law Team with administrative and legal tasks as required.
A law degree or eqivalent legal qualification is essential for this role, as is excellent organisational and time management skills along withstrong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation. The ideal candidate will have confident communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently using initiative. Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Paralegal with astrong interest in education/ employment law and knowledge of SEND and/ or the SEND Tribunalprocess. Previousexperience of working with schoolsis alsodesirable.
This role is suitable for hybrid working and you will be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
