At Every, we help schools run more smoothly.
From HR and payroll to finance and staff management, our software supports schools with the systems they rely on every day. As more schools move to Every, we’re growing our implementation team and looking for someone who understands payroll, enjoys working with customers, and wants to play a key role in helping schools successfully adopt new technology.
This isn’t a back-office payroll processing role.
It’s a customer-facing consultancy role where you’ll guide schools through the implementation of Every’s HR & Payroll software - helping them move from old systems and processes into a modern platform that makes day-to-day work easier.
You’ll work closely with school customers, deliver training, solve problems, support onboarding, and become a trusted expert throughout the implementation journey.
🧾Why This Role Matters
Payroll in schools is complex.
There’s legislation, pensions, compliance, deadlines, and pressure to get things right every single month.
Schools need someone who understands that world - someone who can confidently guide them through implementing new payroll and HR software while making the process feel organised, clear, and manageable.
That’s exactly what this role is about.
You’ll help schools successfully launch Every’s HR & Payroll platform, improve customer confidence, and create a positive experience from day one.
Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction, product adoption, and long-term retention.
👥About the Team You'll Join
You’ll join our Every Implementation team within Education Professional Services - a collaborative group of around 15 Implementation and Training Consultants who support schools across the UK.
This is also an exciting period of growth for the team.
Historically, payroll implementations have sat across different teams, but we’re now building dedicated HR & Payroll expertise directly within Every. That means this role will play an important part in shaping how we deliver implementations moving forward.
Most of the team are Leeds-based, and we’ve found that regular collaboration makes a huge difference - both for learning and team support - so you’ll be expected to travel into the Leeds office every two weeks.
📊What You'll Be Doing
1. Delivering HR & Payroll software implementations for education customers
2. Guiding schools through onboarding, setup, rollout, and go-live
3. Building strong customer relationships and acting as a trusted advisor throughout projects
4. Delivering remote training sessions to customers with different levels of technical confidence
5. Helping customers understand payroll processes, workflows, and best practice
6. Managing multiple implementation projects at the same time
7. Supporting customers with data, configuration, troubleshooting, and queries
8. Working closely with internal teams including Product, Support, and Payroll specialists
9. Helping improve implementation processes and customer experience over time
10. Ensuring customers feel confident, supported, and engaged throughout their Every journey
🔎What We’re Looking For
The payroll side is the most important part of this role.
We’re especially interested in people who have genuinely worked within payroll environments and understand the real-world challenges schools and payroll teams face day to day.
You’ll likely be a strong fit if you have experience in areas such as:
11. Payroll software implementation
12. Education payroll
13. Payroll bureau or managed payroll services
14. HR/Payroll SaaS consultancy or onboarding
15. Payroll operations or payroll administration
16. Customer-facing payroll support
We’d also love to see:
17. Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, pensions, and payroll processes
18. Experience working with HR or Payroll software platforms
19. Confidence communicating with customers and running training sessions
20. Good Excel and data-handling skills
21. The ability to explain complex topics in a simple, clear way
22. Strong organisation and project management skills
23. Confidence handling customer conversations professionally
24. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
25. Experience balancing multiple deadlines and projects
Experience with Staffology Payroll software would be helpful, but it’s not essential.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who combines payroll knowledge with the ability to build trust with customers and guide them through change confidently.

27. Use your payroll knowledge in a more consultative, customer-focused role
