Overview
This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated, qualified Midwife who wants to take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of midwifery care for women and their families. This post is for Midwives who have completed their Preceptorship and are working at Band 6 level and will provide both inpatient and outpatient rotational experience at either the North Manchester or Oxford Road Campus's.
Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Service (MCS) are proud to be the largest maternity service in the country providing care for women across Greater Manchester, supporting around 17,500 births each year. For this role you will be driven to providing the best possible care and be passionate about midwifery and the importance of the services we provide. You will be focused, caring, and dedicated and will strive to work as part of an effective team.
Responsibilities
* Act as a support to the Ward Manager or Team Leader, deputise for them when necessary, and develop and maintain organisational and managerial skills relevant to the ward or department.
* Implement the Trust’s annual appraisal process and participate in implementing and leading the Improving Quality Programme.
* As a motivating and inspirational practice assessor, be a resource for all midwives, support staff and students, encouraging a high level of achievement and ensuring the clinical environment supports education and learning; ensure training is updated annually.
* Apply organisational and cost-awareness skills to understand and manage the cost implications associated with the service and ensure effective use of resources.
* Maintain personal professional development and promote awareness of current developments in midwifery, seeking opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills and expertise.
* Promote patient-centred involvement and foster good working relationships with internal and external departments to support the best patient journey.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Midwife who has completed Preceptorship and is working at Band 6 level.
* Experience across inpatient and outpatient settings with rotational exposure.
