Overview
Join Kalmar as the Regional Service Manager for the Central Region. You will inspire, mentor, and empower our Regional Service Team spanning Immingham and Wakefield through Birmingham and Northampton, and across to South Wales. You’ll be responsible for growing our service business across this vital area, developing and executing strategic goals, and championing safety to ensure that customer service agreements are not just met, but exceeded.
What Are Your Key Responsibilities
* People Leadership & Development: Lead and coach team members to reach their maximum potential while fostering a supportive environment that promotes job satisfaction, wellbeing, and optimal performance.
* Strategic Service Sales: Identify and pursue growth opportunities with a focus on digital solutions, machine upgrades, refurbishments, and maintenance contracts to meet agreed-upon sales and margin targets.
* Operational Excellence & Efficiency: Develop and review technical service standards and procedures, monitoring cost-effectiveness to prioritize spending and optimize resource allocation.
* Customer Relationship Management: Maintain regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high satisfaction levels and build enduring, effective working relationships.
* Contractual & Profitability Oversight: Plan and implement service activities to fulfill maintenance contracts and SLAs, utilizing diligent pipeline management to maximize revenue and profitability.
* HSEQ & Compliance Advocacy: Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies, legal standards, and company codes of conduct to maintain a safe and ethical workplace.

What You Bring To The Role
* Qualifications: You’ll have an engineering qualification and ideally a degree in management or engineering, or equivalent experience in the workplace.
* Safety Commitment: Strong awareness and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your team
* Customer Focus: Proven ability to deliver exceptional service through clear communication, detailed reporting, and a problem-solving mindset.
* Leadership and People Management: Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations, with a knowledge of UK employment law, to ensure a positive and compliant work environment.
* Sales Acumen: A self starter with enthusiasm and drive, you’ll have experience in service sales and contract management and be able to identify and capitalise on opportunities.
* Industry Insight: Proven experience within a service delivery industry, ideally with a knowledge of materials handling products and services.
* Team Player: Collaboration and effective communication with colleagues and clients to achieve shared goals and maintain an equitable work environment for all.
