Overview
The WalkIn Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is a dynamic and responsive service providing same-day access to urgent primary care. It is part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government and is shaping future models of urgent and unscheduled care across Scotland.
Responsibilities
As a Salaried GP within the WalkIn Centre, you will provide a full range of general medical services including urgent assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, safe, person-centred care and play an active role in the continuing development of the service.
Qualifications
Full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence must be in place prior to starting in post). You must be able to work flexible and part‑time arrangements, including evenings and weekends, and cover colleague annual/study leave.
Contract & Salary
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months.
Salary: £77,160 – £115,167 per annum/pro‑rata (with enhanced pay for evening/weekend work). Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend sessions.
Working Hours & Flexibility
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week with flexible working considered. The role includes evening and weekend working with coverage for colleague leave.
