Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to either hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo UK Security Clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will support the planning and delivery of user research activities that shape accessible, inclusive digital services. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll gather, analyse and present insights that guide decision-making and improve user experiences. You’ll build confidence through practical project work, contribute to agile delivery and collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure services reflect real user needs.
You’ll have opportunities to take greater ownership over time, experiment with research methods and grow your expertise with the support of experienced practitioners. Your work will help teams make informed choices and deliver meaningful outcomes for end users.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan & Deliver: Support the design and delivery of user research activities under guidance
- Explore & Analyse: Conduct interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to uncover themes and opportunities
- Collaborate & Contribute: Work closely with agile teams, sharing insights to shape service improvements
- Engage & Communicate: Support stakeholder relationships and present clear, actionable findings
- Champion Inclusion: Help ensure research includes diverse participants and promotes accessible design
- Learn & Grow: Seek feedback, shadow senior researchers, and build your professional capability
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
To succeed in this role, you should bring foundational experience in user research, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in understanding user behaviour. You’ll need strong communication skills, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset, along with the ability to apply basic research and analysis techniques under supervision.
You should have:
- Some practical experience delivering or supporting user research activities
- Basic understanding of user-centred design and agile delivery
- Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data
- Awareness of accessibility, diversity, and inclusion in digital services
- Clear and confident communication skills for varied audiences
- Curiosity, empathy, and a desire to develop your research practice
