Join to apply for the HGV Technician role at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.
The successful candidate will maintain the DCWW fleet in line with Statutory/DfT/DVSA standards, ensure all work complies with our Business Management System, and support the team to meet safety, performance and budget targets.
What you’ll be responsible for
* Ensure that the DCWW fleet is maintained in line with Statutory/DfT/DVSA standards
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with our Business Management System
* Support the performance of the team by working in a professional and efficient way
* Ensure that all aspects of vehicle and plant maintenance are completed, including paperwork and job card/record keeping
* Support the team in achieving safety, performance and budget targets
* Respond to customer requests and requirements as necessary
* Carry out the routine servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturers’ standards
* Repair and maintain vehicles and plant in a safe and roadworthy condition and in line with DfT/DVSA standards
* Complete all associated documents for SAP processing within each calendar month
* Purchase all materials from nominated suppliers
* Maintain all workshop records in accordance with IMS procedures
* Carry out repairs and servicing to industry standard times
* Assist in achieving business plan targets
* Carry out all work in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety policy and systems

About You
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Full UK Driving Licence C+E category is preferred
* NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle Technology with post-apprenticeship experience on Heavy Goods Vehicles
* Experienced in maintaining HGVs to DVSA standards
* Good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance
* Good customer service skills
* The ability to work on your own initiative, to plan and organise workloads and to complete all necessary documentation
Good to know
* The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota (1 week in 6).
* 0800-1600 Monday-Thursday, 0800-1530 Friday
