The Role
The Greenspace team at Tameside Council looks after a wide range of countryside sites and urban parks throughout the Borough. We work closely with our Greenspace Volunteers, local community and partners to carry out a wide range of regular maintenance tasks and to deliver one off projects. It is a varied role where you could be working with volunteers carrying out woodland management in the countryside using a chainsaw one day and liaising with the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor around improvements to an urban park the next. Ideally you will have a strong background in countryside management and are a qualified chainsaw operative as many of the sites you will manage are woodlands in the Borough.
About You
You will need excellent communication skills and experience of working with volunteers, contractors and elected Members. You will be welcomed into a really positive team who you will work closely with and will also need to work independently and use your initiative when out on site.
