Management Accountant | Commercial Finance (4 Month FTC)
Hybrid Altrincham — Fixed-Term Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a commercially driven finance function on a 4-month fixed‑term contract. This role offers the chance to make an immediate impact, supporting a busy division through a key period.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, along with clear insight into business performance. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone comfortable working to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with strict group deadlines
* Deliver variance analysis and commentary to explain financial performance
* Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly
* Support the budgeting and forecasting process
* Provide accurate profit reporting and performance analysis
* Assist with audit requirements and liaise with external auditors
* Complete VAT returns and support statutory reporting
* Contribute to process improvements within finance
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a complex or multi‑entity environment
* Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with experience working across multiple systems
* High attention to detail with the ability to interpret and explain financial data
* Self‑motivated, organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively
* Comfortable working in a deadline‑driven, fast‑moving environment
