1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 6 months. Part-time, 30 hours per week.

About the Project
Gloucestershire’s Alternative Provision Change project launched in September 2024 as part of the national SEND and AP Change Programme. It aims to integrate health, education and care services to provide inclusive support through mainstream offers or specialist settings.
The APST will operate across GHES and The Altus School, focusing on Key Stage 2 and 3 children (7‑14 years). It uses a tiered approach: universal offers, group interventions, holiday activities, parent support and individual specialist work.
Responsibilities
* Support screening and treatment interventions for children and young people (7‑14 yrs), their families/carers and education settings with the designated team.
* Provide consultation, advice and delivery of intervention programmes within the scope of the role and experience. Care planning will utilise a wide range of treatment skills and options in home, community and education settings, alongside a personalised and co‑production approach.
* Adopt a trauma‑informed approach, using knowledge of Adverse Child Experience (ACES) that may impact presenting needs.
* Undertake a clinical caseload of children/young people and their families with guidance from the lead speech and language therapist / wider MDT.
* Work with highly vulnerable or complex‑needs children, coordinating with multi‑agency partners across Gloucestershire.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
* Evidence of childcare qualification.
* Evidence of academic qualification to A‑levels or equivalent.
Qualifications (Desirable):
* Speech and Language relevant qualification.
Experience (Essential):
* Relevant and current experience in an education setting.
* Experience supporting children with SLCN / following speech and language therapy programmes.
Experience (Desirable):
* Experience delivering/supporting training to parents and/or professionals.
Pay & Conditions
* Fixed term contract, 6 months, part‑time, 30 hours per week.
* Pay: £27,485 – £30,162 a year pro rata (Band 4).
* Location: Countywide – Altus Belle Vue Centre, Belle Vue Road, Stroud, GL5 1JP.
