PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this role, you must be willing to relocate to Manchester if you are not local. Location: Manchester (please apply if you are local or willing to relocate) Salary: £13 per hour to start (up to £38k per year with overtime) Overtime: Paid at 1.5x the standard rate regular overtime available (5065 hours per week currently) About Wood Machinist Role: As a Wood Machinist, you will become a key part of a busy production team manufacturing high-quality contract furniture for commercial clients. This role offers the opportunity to work within a respected British manufacturer known for its craftsmanship and high production standards. Training can be provided for the right candidate who already has experience operating wood machinery. Wood Machinist Key Responsibilities: Operate various woodworking machines including: Bandsaw Straight line edger Planer sander Edge sander Beam saw Additional responsibilities include: Preparing timber components for furniture production Ensuring materials are cut and finished to required specifications Maintaining high standards of quality and safety Identifying and reporting any defects or machine issues Working collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines Working Hours and Breaks: Monday Thursday: 7:00am 4:15pm Friday: 7:00am 12:00pm Breaks: 9:30am 9:45am 12:00pm 12:30pm 2:30pm 2:40pm Paid hours: 8.75 hours MondayThursday and 5 hours on Friday Wood Machinist Benefits: Regular overtime available Company pension scheme Christmas shutdown After 5 years of service: additional 2 days holiday After 10 years of service: additional 3 days holiday £25 contribution towards safety boots Relocation Support Available If you're not local to Manchester, we offer a bespoke Recruit and Relocate solution to help you move and settle in the area.
