Nursery Teacher – Maternity Cover

Contract: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover until January 2027)
Salary: MPS / UPS (Inner London)
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join their Early Years team on a maternity cover basis from June 2026.

The Role
You will take responsibility for a Nursery class, delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development, ensuring a smooth and positive early learning experience.
The Ideal Candidate
1. Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
2. Has experience teaching within EYFS, ideally in a Nursery setting
3. Demonstrates strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
4. Creates a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
5. Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff and parents
6. Shows commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
