Main duties of the job

Royal Free Emergency Department is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Band 7 Emergency Department Nurse. The post holder will be responsible for the supervision of nursing and support staff on a shift basis, as well as being in charge of the department, ensuring quality and safety, high standards of patients care and ensuring patient flow throughout the department. You will also lead a team of nurses and take responsibility for quality and safety initiatives in ED. This post will be based in the Emergency Department Royal Free hospital. The Emergency department comprises of the Adult treatment area (ATA) Adult Assessment Unit (AAU) Children's Emergency Department ll co-located to ED. 6 Resus spaces including designated cubicles for children and Rapid ambulance triage (RAT). You will be supported by 2 Matrons and Team of 2 Practice facilitators who support training for all staff across the ED. We also employ children's and Adult ACPs and actively encourage staff development through ACP training for experienced ED staff. We have strong links to a number of educational establishments and run two University Accredited Emergency Nursing courses in the department with all junior nursing staff being placed on a course with in the first 6 to 9 months of starting in the Emergency Department. We have an active research profile as a department, led by our clinical Lead.
