Looking for a challenging role that offers variety and the chance to see your work have a real impact on the city?
As a Traffic and Transport Group Manager you'll work strategically and collaboratively in a client management role to deliver major highway projects. We are looking for someone who will unify the project team, engage with our stakeholders and work closely with our partners and suppliers.
Our projects will have a significant impact, enhancing the quality of our urban environment and on how people move around Derby. Our projects are complex and varied, they include a new infrastructure in the internationally important Derwent Valley Mills world heritage site within the city.
The Group Manager will be involved from concept to delivery and use technical knowledge to work across different specialisms to develop and execute delivery as planned.
The Opportunity
In the role of Traffic and Transport Group Manager, here's an example of what you'll be doing to make an impact:
* Ensure our projects meet service and customer requirements, meet local and regional objectives and deliver transport benefits that improve our city.
* Build relationships with our stakeholders and proactively engage with our partners to build trust and transparency within our projects.
* Oversee and coordinate input from technical specialists, external experts and internal stakeholders.
* Monitor and manage project procurement needs and resource allocation, including forecasting future needs.
* Utilise project management principles for effective project delivery
About You
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
* A recognised technical qualification or proven experience successfully delivering complex projects, preferably in a highways environment.
* Significant experience of managing projects in accordance with agreed project management principles
* Excellent demonstrable project management skills
* Experience in procuring resources and suppliers
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and NEC contracts
