About the role An exciting opportunity for health and safety professionals to join a high performing, dynamic and forward thinking team. We are seeking fully qualified professionals, with local authority experience. As a Health and Safety Business Partner you will report to the Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing and collaboratively work directly with Directorate senior leaders, Head Teachers and managers to provide professional advice and support to ensure improved performance, legal compliance, the prevention of occupational injury/ill health, and to incorporate best practice into all aspects of service provision related to health, safety & well-being. You will support the Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing to deliver and maintain the council's Health and Safety Management System and delivery of its strategies and objectives as described in the Councils Corporate Annual Health and Safety Report, the aim of which is to improve performance, culture/ and participation. You will lead on Safety, Health and Wellbeing projects, ensuring they are reviewed regularly, and objectives are met. You will also assist in the development of the Health and Safety Officer. Please click here to download the Job description for this role. About you You will hold an industry recognized professional health and safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent). Be a Chartered membership of IOSH or actively working towards attaining Chartered Status. You will have: - Up-to-date knowledge and a thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation and its application within the Local Authority or similar workplaces. - The ability to fully consider and provide advice on complex health and safety issues - Knowledge and understanding of key health and safety processes and incorporating sensible risk management - Working knowledge of developing an occupational health and safety management system - Experience of undertaking complex risk assessments - The ability to analyse and understand data and information, and to present the findings, identifying areas of risk, opportunities & solutions. - Be able to undertake health and safety Audits.
