In this role, you will provide value to the business and insight on sustainability issues for St Joseph division, with a focus on ensuring the division meets Berkeley Group Sustainability Strategy and Standards. Key to this role is the ability to liaise with different teams across the business including Construction, Technical and Land and Planning teams. This will include setting out approaches to meet the divisional and group targets; helping to deliver work streams; and monitoring, reporting and communicating local performance.
Due to the multi-phase nature of St Joseph divisional projects means that there will be opportunity to get involved in strategic sustainability initiatives and delivery of sustainability related targets under Our Vision 2030 as well as overseeing the day to day environmental issues.
The role
This role is part of our Highcroft development team, this role will be based onsite and will form part of a multi-discipline project team, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
* Preparing scope and works and trade packages.
* Preparing selected tender list for approval.
* Subcontract tendering.
* Recommendation of subcontractors on “Level Playing Field” ensuring complete scope of works is covered and all qualifications addressed.
* Holding and taking minutes of Subcontract Post-Tender and Pre-Order Meetings.
* Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with Call Off Contract procedure.
* Raising subcontractor payments.
* Forecasting value of design variations.
* Agreeing variations with subcontractor.
* Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports.
* Agreeing final account with subcontractors.
* Assisting with Surveyors’ monthly cost reports.
* Attending Design Team Meetings as required.
* Attending subcontractor progress meetings.
* Writing contractual letters to subcontractors on behalf of Project Manager when requested.
* Assisting Project Manager with financial implications of site progress decisions.
* Countersigning site instructions.
Experience required
* Experience within a developer or main contractor.
* Site based experience.
* Relevant educational background in quantity surveying or relevant subject.
* Undertaking a professional qualification.

The standard default full-time working hours in the office are 8am-5pm with core working hours 9am-4pm.
