We are recruiting Field Managers to oversee our employees in our Budds Farm depot in Hampshire.
Position: Field Manager
Location: Budds Depot, Hampshire Region (Southampton, Hampshire)
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, plus on‑call rota
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending upon experience

About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager for the Hampshire Region, you will lead a team of multi‑skilled waste network service engineers in the delivery of both reactive and planned 24/7 operational response. The role requires a proactive, purposeful yet personable approach in performance and line management.
As part of a team of Field Managers, you will be responsible for Health & Safety, performance delivery, people management, vehicle utilisation and budget adherence for equipment and consumables.
* Carry out site inspections
* Coordinate field engineers
* Manage fleet issues
* Evaluate employee performance
* Liaise with the office planners / team leaders
* Conduct one‑to‑ones
* Vehicle utilisation
* Resource availability
* Assist client with high‑profile jobs
* Monitor engineers’ performances
* Coordinate with HR on disciplinary matters / interviews / pathway reviews
* Look after the wellbeing of field staff
* Be aware of Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them
* Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Regional Manager, the Head of Field Operations or Senior Leadership Team
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards. You should have previous management and leadership experience, a full UK driver’s licence, and (preferably) knowledge of the utilities sector, especially drainage and wastewater. You must be able to prioritise, multitask and build working relationships effectively.
