We’re looking for a passionate and creative senior CDP or Sous to join our team. If you love fresh, flavourful tradional food and enjoy working in a lively, calm envirnoment, and have manager experience this is for you. This CDP/sOUS Chef will have the chance to showcase your culinary skills, bring new ideas to the menu, and be part of a team that values quality, creativity, and sustainability and FRESH food.
What You’ll Be Doing
Cook with passion – Prepare, cook, and plate fresh, high-quality dishes including salads, sandwiches, soups, baked goods, and breakfast favourites.
Run your kitchen station – Handle setup and close-down, restock efficiently, and keep your space clean, organised, and fully compliant.
Maintain high standards – Ensure every dish is consistent in taste, portion, and presentation.
Champion food safety – Follow hygiene regulations, manage wastage and make sure all food is stored at the correct temperature, and maintain a safe, spotless kitchen.
Get creative – Contribute to new menu items, daily specials, and seasonal dishes.
Bring events to life – Support with food prep and service for private events, from canapés and breakfasts to lunches and three-course dinners when the Cafe is closed
Manage a small but dedicated brigade – Collaborate with kitchen colleagues and front-of-house staff to deliver smooth, enjoyable service.
What You’ll Bring
Passion for food – A genuine love of cooking and exploring flavours, with a drive to keep learning.
Proven experience – Time spent in a café, restaurant, or catering kitchen.
Solid skills – Strong knife work, a good grasp of cooking techniques, and an eye for seasoning and flavour balance.
Food safety knowledge – Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain), plus a commitment to safe storage and sanitation.
Organisation & calm under pressure – Ability to prioritise, stay steady in busy periods, and deliver efficiently.
