Join to apply for the Practitioner Psychologist role at TES FE News.

Location: Underley Gardens School – Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ
Salary: Up to £70,000 (pro rata, DOE) plus £3000 Welcome Bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, overlap with core school hours (part-time hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract available)


Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist to join our in-house clinical team at Underley Gardens School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will work within the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, hold a psychological caseload with supervision, contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required. This post suits a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Our clinical teams maintain a person-centred, empowering approach with safeguarding at the forefront. You will help the pupils we support to flourish and grow in independence.


Essential Criteria

* HCPC registration
* Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to Doctorate)
* Experience in related settings or with related client groups
* Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working
* Experience of communicating with families/relatives and carers
* Experience working across different systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual work)
* Experience of a model of: assess, plan, do and review
* Experience using consultation as a service delivery method
* Competence in core areas of psychological practice and HCPC standards
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neuro-diversity
* Ability to develop formulations and inform intervention plans
* Ability to develop and deliver training
* Ability to write clinical records, reports and intervention plans
* Excellent communication skills in complex matters
* Effective IT skills and adaptability to core platforms
* Ability to work with a range of professionals and contribute to service development
* Ongoing CPD and ability to use evaluation tools to improve outcomes
* Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise multiple demands and meet deadlines
* Willingness to undertake induction and travel for company business
* Full driving licence and car access


Desirable

* Experience with specific client groups (neuro-diverse, SEMH) and settings (schools, residential care)
* Experience of providing supervision to others
* Knowledge of related legislation for clinical practice and management
* Post-qualification training relevant to role
* Training in evidence-based interventions/approaches
