Allianz Trade for Multinationals (AZTMNC) is looking for a Regional Head of Continental Europe to join our Specialty Credit (SC) team in our Paris office. Role: This team player is required to underwrite specific risks on the basis of the underwriting guidelines applicable to Specialty Credit (SC). He / she will manage a team of commercial underwriters and back office. This high profile role requires a Political and Commercial underwriter with a substantial experience in the PRI market and / or extensive banking experience Main Tasks: - Originate deals liaising with brokers and clients; - Select opportunities based on AZT & SC underwriting criteria; - Handle the commercial underwriting process, in coordination with the risk underwriting team; - Support the development of SC in the region and define local SC strategy in coordination with the Global Head and Deputy Global Head of SC. - Develop business by providing clients with solutions in frame of Commercial Underwriting rules: - Drive growth, long-term quality and profitability of portfolio - Approve terms and conditions of tailor made solutions within authorities - Review contractual documentation and negotiate specific wordings with brokers and clients Challenges: - Refine and enhance existing underwriting standards continuously - Manage local teams and validate negotiated terms, structure and implementation - Be the regional SC representative and manage relationships with AZT regional management - Apply business segmentation matrix and ensure proper business allocation to SC - Ensure balanced growth, long-term profitability and quality of customer portfolio Typical Functional Skills / Experiences: - A relevant experience in credit insurance or political risk market and/or banking sector (min 8 years) including: - In-depth knowledge of credit insurance mechanisms and banking products - Strong understanding of trade related financings for corporates from Trade Finance to Export Finance products and in-depth knowledge of banking transactions - Very good understanding of the PRI market and banking industry - Strong knowledge of markets wordings - Ability to negotiate high profile deals - Very good geopolitical culture including on emerging markets - Strong organisational / communication skills and efficient work practices and strong management skills - Fluent in French and English - Ability to work well under pressure - Very good interpersonal skills - Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities #france #paris Allianz Trade for Multinationals (AZ Trade for MNC) is an Allianz Trade division serving Multinational clients, i.e. top-tier clients with contracts covering different geographies worldwide.
