Job Title: SHERQ Manager
To implement and monitor compliance to BME's SHERQ Management Systems, programs, entailing process monitoring, auditing, legal compliance, training, and reporting to embed a SHERQ culture within BME.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, chemistry, safety, or equivalent
Advantageous Requirements:
* Process Safety Certificate
Experience
* 5 years demonstrated experience in SHERQ management in a production/mining/explosives environment
* 3 years demonstrated experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
* 3 years’ demonstrated experience in people management
Additional Advantage:
* 2 years demonstrated experience in SHERQ management systems
Duties
* Achieved and improved operations SHERQ objectives: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to shape the SHERQ function across sites, working closely with site management to deliver and promote a SHERQ and continuous improvement culture.
* Implement and monitor SHE management programs aligned with BME's strategy and safety objectives (RCR).
* Assist in maintaining BME's ISO accreditation.
* Prevented/mitigated SHERQ risks and incidents: Disseminate SHE initiatives and information, identify training needs, ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures, and develop occupational wellness programs.
* Identify and manage risks to ensure zero harm.
* Implemented SHERQ frameworks for continuous compliance: Verify data, analyze trends, compile SHE reports, and recommend initiatives aligned with strategic objectives to improve safety and SHERQ culture.
* Manage the SHE budget according to established parameters.
* Enabled SHERQ Officers: Develop skills through mentoring and training, demonstrating the team’s contribution to the business.
* Enhanced stakeholder relations: Build relationships with external stakeholders to support the role's mandate.
