The role:
As a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler, you’ll be a key part of a skilled machine build team assembling complex special-purpose machinery. This isn’t repetitive sub-assembly work - it’s full, end-to-end machine building.
Day-to-day duties include:
* Full mechanical assembly of bespoke machines from the ground up
* Precision fitting, fine adjustments, correct clearances, and lubrication
* Working with shafts, bearings, gears, linkages, pneumatics, and other precision components
* Using power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring tools (height gauges, micrometers, callipers)
* Reading and interpreting detailed mechanical drawings and specifications
* Final inspection, testing, and verification during the build process
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Mechanical Assembly Fitter, Assembly Fitter, or Assembly Engineer within a machinery build environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and machine build standards
* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
* A passion for building high-quality machinery that lasts
