Mechanical Shift Engineer - Mars Wrigley
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Base salary + Shift Allowances) + Bonus
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts 32 or 40 hours: Sat/Sun 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am, plus 8 or 16 hours during the week (Flexible)
Welcome Bonus: £2,500 for weekends

The role of a Mechanical Engineer involves maintaining equipment by repairing or replacing failed components, troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, documenting work orders using a computerized system, supporting operational setup, and participating in team activities including training and breakdown analysis.
What are we looking for?
* Experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues in an FMCG environment
* Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, machining, and mechanical systems with minimal guidance
* Hands-on approach, self-driven, good at prioritizing workloads
* Qualified in an engineering discipline with relevant experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances
* Perform routine mechanical problem-solving and preventative maintenance
* Support equipment setup and train operators in autonomous maintenance
* Document work using SAP-PPM and complete maintenance activities
* Communicate effectively with team members and management
* Participate in TPM activities, conduct breakdown analysis, and adhere to safety procedures including LOTO and GMP
Technical Skills:
* Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
* Troubleshooting pneumatic and mechanical drive systems
* Willingness to develop welding, machining, and fabrication skills
