Overview
Principal Civil Engineer - Water Sector role at Stantec in Belfast. This position focuses on delivering water and wastewater projects, supporting the AMP8 framework, and contributing to resilience and improvement schemes for clients in Northern Ireland and the South of England.
Responsibilities
* Develop technical solutions and provide advice to clients across water and wastewater initiatives.
* Ensure projects are delivered to cost, schedule, and quality standards.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve first‑class delivery of projects.
* Work with external stakeholders and clients to develop long‑term relationships.
* Contribute to design and delivery on frameworks (e.g., NI Water IF182; Southern Water AMP8) and identify nature‑based solutions to improve water quality, reduce overflows, and boost biodiversity.
About You
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject.
* Some experience in the regulated water industry; ideally chartered status (e.g., IEI, ICE, CIWEM).
* Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure/networks and treatment; experience in areas such as Wastewater Treatment, Trunk Mains and Large Diameter Pipeline Design, Service Reservoirs, or Clean Water Treatment is desirable.
* Experience mentoring or leading junior civil engineers and technical professionals to achieve holistic technical outcomes is advantageous.
