Are you a Birmingham Care Leaver looking for a chance to make a real difference? This could be the opportunity for you!
We have an exciting Care Leaver Apprenticeship Programme where you’ll work as a Corporate Parenting Participation Apprentice – helping children and young people across the Trust have their voices heard.
In this role, you’ll:
* Work closely with the Children in Care and Care Leaver Teams
* Support the Corporate Parenting agenda by the promotion of offers, projects and experiences we have, to teams and young people.
* Promoting the Corporate Parenting principles across the Trust and Birmingham City Council so that staff continued to understand their responsibility.
* Design and create a range of promotional materials, such as posters, leaflets, and cards, to support the promotion of the service.
* Make sure young people’s views are represented and taken seriously across the Trust.
* Provide advice, information, and advocacy based on respect, empowerment, and equality.
* Work with children in care, care leavers, and those on child protection plans.
You’ll also help shape how services are delivered by supporting co-production and consultation – making sure young people are involved in decisions that affect them. Part of your role will include:
* Quality assurance visits to supported accommodation.
* Helping develop a Young Person’s Inspector role.
* Creating opportunities for participation and involvement.
This is more than a job – it’s a chance to use your experience to create positive change for others.
