We are seeking an experienced
Safety Case / COMAH Engineer
to join our expanding Licence to Operate team.
This is a key role responsible for the development, maintenance, and submission of Offshore Safety Cases (SC) and Onshore COMAH Safety Reports (CSR) in support of Southern North Sea (SNS) operations.
This is a full-time, office-based position in Norwich, working Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, manage, and submit SC/CSR documentation to the regulatory agency.
* Coordinate all SC/CSR material change submissions and gather inputs from stakeholders.
* Assess materiality of changes and associated risk impacts.
* Ensure hazard management information, including QRA data, remains valid and up to date.
* Maintain accuracy of SC/CSR content through collaboration with Performance Standard Owners, Operations, and Project Teams.
* Attend Management of Change meetings and manage SC/CSR updates accordingly.
* Coordinate workforce and independent verification body engagement for SC/CSR updates.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies on SC/CSR matters and ensure compliance with legislative changes.
* Manage the 5-yearly SC/CSR thorough review programme and maintain associated registers and commitments.
* Support QSHE plans, improvement programs, and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Higher technical qualification, ideally in engineering (other disciplines considered).
* Chartered Engineer status desirable but not essential.
* 10+ years' experience in UKCS Offshore Oil & Gas, top-tier COMAH sites, or with the Competent Authority.
* In-depth understanding of Safety Case and COMAH regulations and supporting legislation (e.g., PFEER, DSEAR).
* Experience with QRA, Safety Case report writing, and multi-discipline team collaboration.
* Knowledge of planning, cost control, and document management processes.
* Previous work with the Competent Authority and project management experience desirable.
