About the Role
Contracts & Commercial Team Leader
As Team Leader, you will:
* Lead and manage a busy team of legal professionals, ensuring efficient, solution-focused, and cost-effective service delivery.
* Provide expert legal advice on complex contractual, commercial, procurement, and governance issues to internal and external clients.
* Oversee a diverse caseload, including high-value contracts, company law matters, and strategic projects involving the Council and its companies.
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team, fostering a collaborative, client-focused, and supportive working culture.
About You
We seek a confident legal leader with:
* Proven experience in leading and developing legal teams, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Extensive experience in contract and commercial law, ideally within or alongside the public sector.
* A strong understanding of procurement law, the Procurement Act 2023, company law, and local authority legal frameworks.
* Ability to manage complex legal issues independently and make strategic decisions.
