Role Overview
We are hiring Medical Writers at multiple levels of seniority (Medical Writer, Senior Medical Writer, Principal Medical Writer) to join a growing medical communications team.
As a Medical Writer, you will work closely with senior colleagues to develop and deliver high-quality scientific content across a wide range of medical communications. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with both scientific and commercial objectives. Depending on your experience and level, you may also take on greater responsibilities in project leadership, client interaction, mentoring, and strategic publication planning.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Write, edit, and review scientific content for a range of deliverables (e.g., manuscripts, abstracts, slide decks, meeting reports, digital content).
* Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, deadlines, budgets, and internal quality standards.
* Manage multiple assignments effectively while adhering to project timelines.
Business Planning / Commercial Contribution
* Support account planning, publication strategies, and communication programs.
* Maintain current awareness of therapeutic area developments, clinical practice, and communication trends.
Financial Management
* Monitor adherence to budgets and utilisation targets.
* Track time spent on projects and complete timesheets accurately and promptly.
Organisational & Team Collaboration
* Contribute actively to teamwork within account teams and across the wider Medical Communications group.
* Participate in team and client meetings, sharing insights and supporting solutions.
Education
* Essential: Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science (or equivalent).
* Desirable: Higher degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent).
Experience & Skills
* Proven medical writing experience with a strong portfolio of high-quality scientific content.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Confidence in client and medical expert interactions.
* Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
* High computer literacy (Microsoft Office; ability to learn new tools quickly).
Note
This is a hybrid role. You must be able to travel to the Maidenhead office minimum 3 times per week.
