Who are we looking for?
Reporting to the Manager, IP Engineering, the Lead, IP Engineering role is for highly experienced Network Engineers who are strong authorities in their field and can provide Technical Leadership in an IP engineering team. They will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery and support of complex, end-to-end projects.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
The lead engineer will be responsible for design and engineering of network solutions and delivering on Gamma's infrastructure, services, platforms and customer solution projects.
Leads are accountable and responsible for providing technical leadership, mentorship, motivation and expertise in support of other engineers within the team.
Supporting the network strategy and spearhead dynamically formed Design engineering teams.
Leads will deliver the technical goals of a project, including, requirements analysis, high and low level design, proof of concept work, testing, and build, leveraging automation to drive efficiencies.
Working with assigned architects to agree technology selection, design approach, security / maintainability, and ensuring that designs meet non‑functional requirements, including scale and performance.
Alongside project activity, Leads will act as the primary technical and communication interface between Managers, Architects, and project stakeholders across the business.
What you’ll need:
* A strong network design background with good experience of public and private cloud networking with more general experience of service provider architectures.
* Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
* Experience delivering mid-to-large size projects as a lead or as a resource within those projects.
* Good understanding of IP, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP and OSPF and good experience with one or more of; Data Centre design, Public Cloud (AWS/OCI) and/or Private Cloud (Openstack/VMWare) network solutions.
* A good working experience with MPLS.
DESIRABLE:
* Automation experience across frameworks, libraries and orchestration tools using technologies such as: Python, PyTest, GitLab etc.
* Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform.
* Certifications such as Cisco's CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Juniper's JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent.
