About the job.
It's an exciting time to join National Highways! We're looking for a HR Senior Advisor - Reward and Pensions to join the HR Reward and Performance centre of expertise (CoE) at National Highways, on an 18-month fixed term contract basis.
You'll deliver reward services to the business, utilising centrally determined policies and tools to meet the needs of specific clients. Provide advice and interpret solutions to resolve queries escalated from Shared Services. You'll also provide HR trends analysis in line with defined HR strategy and priorities.
But that's not all, you'll support reward and wider HR projects as required, as well as actively monitor and identify opportunities for improvement across reward, pensions and wider HR processes including assessment of query and service delivery metrics and business feedback.
Provide functional and advisory support across reward (e.g. processing payments following compensation reviews, PRP payments, pension admin support).
Receive and handle escalated reward queries from HR Shared Service Advisors when guidance or clarification on policies and/or procedures is required, escalate complex queries where appropriate.
Deliver reporting and analytical support as required (e.g. salary surveys, pay data including pay and pension audits, pension reconciliations and supporting on gender pay gap reporting).
Support the job evaluation process, providing position profiles and scoping data, inputting into job levelling, and benchmarking.
Develop communications materials and guidance to support the delivery of financial and pension education.
The role will be worked on a hybrid basis, with a combination of office and remote working. You will be required to attend the Birmingham office at least 2 days per week.
About you.
Knowledge and experience of Reward including pay, job evaluation and pensions.
Sound communication and advisory skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers within the business.
Proficiency in a range of MS Office software to provide and manipulate spreadsheets, management reports and documents.
High degree of attention to detail, good problem-solving skills and able to multi-task and prioritise critical items.
Professional body (e.g. CIPD, REC, etc.) member (desirable).
