The right appointment will allow UKTV to:
* Negotiate and maintain great relationships with our distribution partners
* Review how we can offer the best value to our partners whilst delivering against our commercial objectives
* Ensure the Distribution team works effectively with other teams within UKTV and the BBC
The Senior Distribution Manager will lead on and support:1. our connected TV & FAST platform partner negotiations2. internal commercial projects and business cases3. in-life management of our existing pay TV platform partnerships
What we would like you to bring to the role....key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities
Experience
* Previous experience working in a commercial role (preferably in pay TV, connected TV or FAST carriage), leading or supporting negotiations and managing relationships in-life
* Experience working on cross-business strategic initiatives and business cases would also be helpful, but isn't essential
Knowledge
* Understanding of the UK & Ireland TV markets. An understanding of the connected TV and/or FAST channel markets would be advantageous
* Familiarity with contracts (but no legal qualifications are expected)
* Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Skills & personal qualities
* Strong negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Aptitude and appetite for problem resolution and target delivery
* The ability to think independently and debate the best approach with other members of the team
* Strong presentation skills, able to distill complex data into a simple narrative
What you will get to work on....key outputs and responsibilities of the role
* Lead/support negotiations with connected TV & FAST partner platforms
* Lead/support internal commercial strategic reviews to ensure we continue to offer value to our platform partners
* Lead/support the in-life management key platform relationships
* Respond to contractual queries from around the business to ensure compliance with our obligations
* Monitor market developments and provide updates to business stakeholders as required
